HONDA
XR500 (497cc) 1979
1979 Honda XR500
A very early example of Honda’s legendary big-bore XR, dating from the first year of XR500 production.
Showing just 4,480 miles, which is believed to be genuine.
Powered by Honda’s 497cc air-cooled four-stroke single-cylinder engine with a 5-speed gearbox and kick start.
These early twin-shock XR500s are becoming increasingly difficult to find and are an important part of Honda’s off-road history. The distinctive 23-inch front wheel and big four-stroke single make the first-generation XR instantly recognisable.
A proper late-1970s Honda thumper and an increasingly collectible classic trail bike.
