1966 BULTACO SHERPA 250
Superb Condition | Iconic Spanish Trials Bike | A Landmark Motorcycle
A beautiful example of one of the most important trials motorcycles ever produced.
This 1966 Bultaco Sherpa 250 is in superb condition and represents the period when Bultaco was helping to completely change the direction of observed trials.
Developed through Bultaco's collaboration with legendary trials rider Sammy Miller, the lightweight two-stroke Sherpa proved that the heavy British four-strokes which had dominated the sport could be beaten by something lighter, simpler and far more agile.
The result was a motorcycle that didn't just win competitions — it helped redefine the trials bike.
LIGHT, SIMPLE AND BEAUTIFULLY PURPOSEFUL
The Sherpa's appeal is still obvious today.
A lightweight chassis, compact two-stroke single-cylinder engine, slim proportions and minimal bodywork produced a machine designed around balance, grip and control.
There is almost nothing on the bike that doesn't need to be there.
This example presents in superb condition and looks exactly as a classic competition motorcycle should: purposeful, beautifully proportioned and unmistakably Bultaco.
A GENUINE PIECE OF TRIALS HISTORY
By 1966, the Sherpa was establishing Bultaco as a major force in international trials and beginning a competition legacy that would make the Sherpa name famous around the world.
Today these early bikes are hugely evocative machines — interesting not only to Bultaco enthusiasts, but to collectors of significant competition motorcycles generally.
